The Food Recovery Network is made up of dedicated volunteers who strive to reduce food waste and promote food justice through education within the local Galesburg community. Even though this branch of the Food Recovery Network is central to Knox, it is connected to a nation-wide movement across college campuses to be more involved in food repurposing actions. For club members more committed to the long term progress of Food Recovery Network at Knox, the opportunities for personal growth in community development are great.

The club works to increase student involvement in the community, and form collaborative partnerships with other organizations to recover other sources of donated food. On campus, the club hosts food justice themed documentaries, brings in experts, and works to host other fun events in collaboration with other clubs. In the long term, the Food Recovery Network wishes to create a zero-waste campus and foster stronger off-campus connections, both to people in need of food and with businesses who have edible food waste to donate.
