A lecture about the anti-slavery movement by Owen Muelder, director of the Underground Railroad Freedom Station at Knox College, will be broadcast by C-SPAN on March 4 and March 10-11.
Muelder presented the lecture, "Owen Lovejoy: Congressman, Abolitionist, and Underground Railroad Operator," on February 3 at the Rayburn House Office Building, in Washington, DC.
The event was sponsored by the United States Capitol Historical Society in conjunction with the Illinois State Historical Society and the Washington DC Knox Club. it was one of several lectures Muelder gave during Black History Month.
C-SPAN3 is carried on Comcast Channel 447 in Galesburg.
