Viewbook Receives Gold Award

Knox's viewbook that was given a gold award by CASE.

Knox College has received its third accolade this year from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). The Knox viewbook, known affectionately as Dream Big, received a gold award in the 2015 Pride of CASE V awards program, recognizing excellent work from members of CASE's District V, which includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

This past summer, Knox's website, www.knox.edu, received a bronze award in the international 2015 Circle of Excellence Awards, and the College's fundraising program was cited by CASE for Overall Fundraising Improvement.

The viewbook was selected from 400 entries from 80 institutions competing for the Pride of CASE V awards, spanning a wide range of print and electronic communications. The gold award is the top recognition in the Best Viewbook category.

"We knew that the viewbook was a unique publication from the start, from its design and photography, to its emphasis on lists as a way to organize and present information about Knox College. The response from prospective students has been extremely positive, and this CASE award reaffirms that the publication is an effective introduction to Knox," says Paul Steenis, Knox College vice president for enrollment.

Over the last 18 months, Knox redesigned and introduced new Admission publications targeted at prospective students and families. The Dream Big viewbook was the first publication in the new series. Knox worked with the Brooklyn-based branding and communications firm, Generation, on the publications. Since introducing the new publications, Knox received a record number of applications for fall 2015 and welcomed its third largest class in the last 40 years this September.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is one of the largest international associations of education institutions, serving more than 3,600 universities, colleges, schools and related organizations in more than 80 countries. CASE is the leading resource for professional development, information, and standards in the fields of alumni relations, communications, educational fundraising, and marketing.
