Chamber Singers, May 13

The Knox College Chamber Singers present their Spring Concert at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 13, in Kresge Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, on the Knox campus in Galesburg, Illinois. The concert is free and open to the public.

Directed by Laura Lane, professor of music at Knox College, the Chamber Singers will perform English madrigals by Morley, Gibbons and P.D.Q. Bach; and vocal jazz arrangements by Steve Zegree and Gene Peurling. Featured soloists are Chanel Miller and Margaret Wehr.

The Chamber Singers is an elite 20-voice ensemble that concentrates on a-cappella works. The ensemble is selected from among members of the Knox College Choir.

Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 45 states and 44 nations. Knox's 'Old Main' is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
