Knox Day of Dialogue Continues Annual Tradition of Creating Meaningful Conversations

The Knox College Choir will showcase the program for its upcoming spring concert tour, in a free, public send-off concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 25, at First Lutheran Church, 364 E. Water St., Galesburg.
The program features works on three themes, sorrow and redemption; solitude, determination and praise; and love and hope.
The Knox College Choir's spring break tour features a series of concerts from March 13 through March 18. The choir is performing in Cincinnati, Ohio; Takoma Park, Fort Washington and Gaithersburg, Maryland; and Carmel, Indiana. The 50-voice vocal ensemble has toured throughout the United States during the College's annual spring break, and embarks on a European tour every four years.

The Choir will give its 2018 Home Tour Concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 23, in Knox College's Kresge Recital Hall.
The concerts are all free and open to the public.
The choir is directed during the current academic term by Diana Sáez, while Laura Lane, professor of music, is on sabbatical. Sáez is a leading specialist in the field of Latin American music and an accomplished choral conductor. She has served as artistic director of Cantigas, a chamber choir that she founded; artistic director of the World Bank-IMF Chorus; and director of Catholic University Women's Choir. She earned degrees from Escuela Libre de Música in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Temple University, and the University of Maryland.
The choir's accompanist is Casey Dierlam.
The Knox College Choir has performed in Carnegie Hall, recorded numerous CDs and worked with many renowned composers, including Eriks Ešenvalds, Stacey Gibbs, Abbie Betinis, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, Rollo Dilworth, Ruth Watson Henderson, Thea Musgrave, and the late Moses Hogan.
