The Knox College Department of Theatre and Dance presents a dance concert, "Journeys," at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 22 through Saturday, May 24, in Harbach Theatre, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, on the Knox campus, Galesburg, Illinois. Tickets are available at the door and are $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, free for students. Tickets are also free for Knox College students, faculty and staff.
The concert will include works choreographed by Knox College dance faculty Jennifer Smith and Kathleen Ridlon, and one written for the concert by the Ameba Dance Company of Chicago, which recently conducted a week-long dance residency at Knox. Ridlon's work, co-written with Nikki Whittaker, instructor in music and director of the jazz program, will feature a jazz combo.
Works by three student choreographers also will be performed. The students are Megan Hall, Natasha Robin and Jessica Strache.
Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 45 states and 44 nations. Knox's 'Old Main' is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
