Fiske College Guide Selects Knox Among Best for 2012

"Academics are the priority, students are encouraged to be individuals..."

Fiske Guide to Colleges 2012Praising Knox College as a school where "academics are the priority and students are encouraged to be individuals," the 2012 edition of the "Fiske Guide to Colleges" has selected Knox as one of the top 300 colleges, chosen from more than 2,200 four-year institutions of higher education in the United States and Canada.

The annual college guidebook is edited by Edward B. Fiske, who served for 17 years as education editor of The New York Times. The "Fiske Guide to Colleges" does not accept advertising or fees from the colleges that it evaluates.

With a "warm and supportive academic community," the Fiske Guide says,  Knox offers students a "close-knit atmosphere [that] helps them form strong connections" with both students and faculty.

Also notable at Knox, according the Fiske Guide, are an honor system that governs academic integrity and strong programs in creative writing, political science, mathematics, psychology, and other natural sciences -- biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental studies and physics.
