The Knox College chapter of Habitat for Humanity held its annual "Shanty Town" in May, to raise awareness on campus of homelessness. In the weeks leading up to the event, chapter members sponsored a raffle that raised over $200 for Habitat's Galesburg Affiliate.
Seven teams of Habitat members competed to build cardboard structures, and the top four were eligible to win prizes. The event capped a year in which students donated hundreds of hours of volunteer labor to Habitat projects in Knox County and in New Orleans.
