Knox College Homecoming, Oct. 18-20

Reunions, Receptions, Sports, Lectures, Faculty, Students, Alumni and Friends!

Young alumni enjoy the Homecoming

Knox College looks to welcome more than 1,000 alumni to Galesburg for the College's 2013 Homecoming Weekend festivities, October 18-20.

Alumni events include reunions organized by class years, clubs, sports teams, fraternities, sororities and academic majors; a "Taste of Galesburg" All-Class Reception; and an Olde English style cross country 5K. 

Knox Service Awards will be presented this year to Richard Kowalski P'14, Anthony Liberta '55, and Steve Walton '74. The Knox-Lombard Athletic Hall of Fame will induct the 1956 football team; 1957-1958 basketball team; Victor Garcia '03; Al Reilly, football coach from 1968 - 1976; and Jim Smith '78.

Several Homecoming events are free and open to the public:

On Friday, October 19 --

  • Alumni Artists Reception and Discussion, 7-9 p.m., Round Room, Ford Center for the Fine Arts
  • Alumni Jam Session, 9-11 p.m., Bier Garten, Cherry Street Restaurant & Bar, 57 South Cherry Street

On Saturday, October 20 --

  • Alumni & Faculty Book Signing, 11 a.m.-12 p.m., Lobby, Ford Center for the Fine Arts
  • Women's Soccer vs. Lake Forest College, 1 p.m., Jorge Prats Field
  • Knox Football vs. Cornell College, 1 p.m., Knosher Bowl
  • Knox Men's Soccer vs. Lake Forest College, 3 p.m., Jorge Prats Field
