Knox College's annual International Fair will feature food and entertainment from around the world, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, January 31, on the Knox campus in Galesburg, Illinois.
Activities in advance of the fair include faculty lectures on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 27 and 28, on the fair's theme -- "iGreen: Sustainability in the Global World."
On Saturday, January 31, fair events include an international buffet lunch, with food from around the world prepared by students, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Seymour Union; cultural booths from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Ford Center for the Fine Arts; and a parade of flags and student talent show from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Kresge Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts.
This year's guest entertainment is Funkadesi, whose music combines Asian, African, Latin and contemporary funk, performing at 8 p.m. Saturday in Kresge Hall.
Admission is $5 per person at the door, with a group rate of $4 per person for groups of five or more, and free admission for children six and under. A single ticket covers all the day's events.
Now in its 28th year, the fair is sponsored by the Knox College International Club. With students from 47 states and territories and 48 countries, Knox has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the most diverse and international colleges in the U.S.
