Knox College International Fair

27th annual worldwide food and fun-fest, January 26

Knox College's 27th Annual International Fair will feature food and entertainment from around the world on Saturday, January 26, on the Knox campus in Galesburg, Illinois.

Highlights of the fair on Saturday, January 26, include the international buffet lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Seymour Union; educational displays by international students and campus clubs from noon to 2 p.m. in the Ford Center for the Fine Arts; a parade of flags and student entertainment from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Kresge Hall; and a performance by Mountain Lions International at 8 p.m. in Kresge Hall.

Tickets are $5 at the door for adults, $4 for students and senior citizens, and free for children under 6. Admission to the cultural booths is included in the cost of the buffet. Donations at the educational displays are welcome.

Mountain Lions International, this year's guest artist, is an African-reggae-rock fusion band, founded by two students from Sierra Leone who originally came to the United States to attend the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater.

A special group rate of $4 per person is available by calling Cathy Walters, Director of International Student Advisement, at 309-341 7230.

Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 45 states and 44 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.

Saturday, January 26

11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
International Food Fair Buffet Lunch, Seymour Union. tickets available at the door.

Noon - 2 p.m.
Cultural Booths and Educational Displays, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. Admission included with Buffet Lunch Tickets.

2 p.m.- 4 p.m.
Parade of Flags and Student Performances, Kresge Hall. Free admission.

8 p.m.
Mountain Lions International, Kresge Hall. Free admission.
