The Knox College Jazz Ensemble will perform its fall concert at 7 p.m., Saturday, November 6, in Kresge Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. The concert is free and open to the public.
The ensemble, directed by David Hoffman, associate in applied music, will perform selections from the Big Band repertoire. The ensemble also will perform works composed by Hoffman, the former trumpet/flugelhorn soloist and composer/arranger with the Ray Charles Orchestra.
Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 45 states and 48 countries. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
