Knox Board Elects Three New Trustees

The Knox College Board of Trustees has elected three new members. Tom Anderson of Indianapolis, Indiana, a healthcare industry executive, and R. Kyle Winning of Little Rock, Arkansas, a real estate investment executive, were elected general trustees. Tino Schuler of Jacksonville, Florida, a senior executive with Medtronic, was elected an alumni trustee. Each assumed their positions on the Board on July 1.

Tom AndersonAnderson

Tom Anderson '66 was elected to a four year-term as a general trustee. Anderson previously served as an alumni trustee of the College from 2004 to 2008. A native of Kewanee, Illinois, Anderson earned his bachelor's degree at Knox in economics and an MBA from Bradley University.

 

After graduating from Knox, Anderson served the College as director of admission, and later as assistant to the vice president for finance. For the past three decades he has worked in the healthcare field in Indianapolis, as CEO of Methodist Home Care and currently HemaSource.

A letterwinner in basketball at Knox, Anderson has been a lead donor to the renovation of Knox athletic facilities, has served as chair of the College's Business Advisory Council and regularly speaks to business classes at Knox regarding healthcare economics.

Anderson and his wife, Sue '71, have served as event hosts and local leaders of the Knox alumni club in Indianapolis. Their two sons also are Knox graduates, David '89 and Kyle '93.

R. Kyle WinningWinning

R. Kyle Winning '83 was elected to a four-year term as a general trustee. He came to Knox from St. Louis, Missouri, earned his bachelor's degree in economics at Knox and an MBA at Rice University.

Winning is chief investment officer and managing director of Steadfast Companies, overseeing real estate investments of more than $1.5 billion across the United States and Mexico. Prior to joining Steadfast, he was a partner in McCord Development in Houston and a partner and senior officer of The Judwin Companies, also in Houston.

Winning also is chairman of the Affordable/Workforce Housing Council of the Urban Land Institute. 

Tino SchulerSchuler

Tino Schuler '87 was elected to a four-year term as an alumni trustee of the College. Born in Munich, he spent much of his early childhood abroad in Germany and Japan, before his family settled in the Chicago area. Schuler earned his bachelor's degree at Knox in history and an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas - Austin.

Schuler began his career with Medtronic at Xomed, the firm's subsidiary in Munich, as its managing director. He is currently senior director, ENT Marketing, Medtronic Surgical Technologies, Jacksonville, Florida.

From 2008 to 2011, Schuler served on Knox's Business Advisory Council. He also is active in fundraising for his children's school.
