Lecture by Jonah Goldberg on May 4

Nationally syndicated political columnist Jonah Goldberg, a contributing editor of National Review and founding editor of the magazine's website, National Review Online, will give a talk, "Liberal Fascism," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, in Kresge Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. The free, public lecture is sponsored by Knox Republicans, with additional support from the Young America's Foundation and the Intellectual Diversity Foundation.

Goldberg's talk is based on his best-selling book, Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning. Following the lecture, Goldberg will sign copies of his book, which will be available for purchase.

Currently a member of the Board of Contributors to USA Today, Goldberg has served as a media critic for Brill's Content and The American Enterprise, and a Washington columnist for the Times of London. He has written about politics and culture for The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times Times, Commentary, Public Interest, Wilson Quarterly, The Weekly Standard, Slate, TheStreet.com, New York Post, Women's Quarterly, and Food and Wine. Goldberg is a regular political commentator on CNN and has served as a guest host on Crossfire and as a regular panelist on Wolf Blitzer's Late Edition. Other television appearances include Good Morning America, Larry King Live, Today, Nightline, Hardball with Chris Matthews, Hannity & Colmes, The Daily Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, Special Report with Brit Hume, Geraldo, NBC Nightly News, and numerous other television and radio programs.

Goldberg was senior producer of the award-winning series Think Tank with Ben Wattenberg on PBS and has written and produced several PBS documentaries and specials. He won the 2001 Lowell Thomas Award and in 2008 was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for his commentaries, which are nationally syndicated by the Los Angeles Times.
