Lecture on Abraham Lincoln's Poetry, Sept. 25

Dan Guillory, professor emeritus of English at Millikin University, will give a reading from his book, "The Lincoln Poems," at 4 p.m. Friday, September 25 in the Alumni Room, Old Main, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. The lecture is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the Caxton Club and the Lincoln Studies Center at Knox College.

Guillory's book "The Lincoln Poems," consists of his own poetry, inspired by Lincoln's voice. It is one of only twenty-one books selected from across the nation for presentation at this year's National Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration in Springfield, has also been issued in audiobook format. He has also published numerous chapters, articles, and book reviews.

Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 47 states and 48 countries. Knox's 'Old Main' is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
