Knox College's student-run Union Board hosted its annual spring Lincoln Fest music festival on May 10, showcasing a variety of musicians and genres and bringing together members of the Knox community.

Lincoln Fest planner and Union Board member Kati Stemple '16 explains that she joined Union Board because of its involvement with Lincoln Fest. The Lincoln Fest tradition at Knox started in 2010.

"Music creates a sense of community and just provides the opportunity to showcase Knox talent, especially," says Stemple.

"It's just another fun thing to look forward to and enjoy."

The festival included performances from six bands consisting of Knox students:

• Johnny Bergholz '14
• Fellows (Madeline Pape '17 and Lee Ryan Foxell '17)
• The Moonshine Kids (Haley Beeson '14 and Josh Hosmer-Quint '13)
• Road to the Dim Kingdom (Adrita Deb-Burman '15 and Ayesha Ismael Fariz '15)
• Dream of Burbank (Morgan Jellison ‘16, Rob Peterson ‘16, and Brian Tanaka '15)
• GRYFN (Griffin Belzer '14)

In addition to showcasing Knox performers, Union Board brought in three outside performers: rhythm & blues artist Rudy Currence, pop/rock group Colour of London, and Caribpop group Cover Drive.

The event attracted numerous students who gathered on the lawn of Old Main to enjoy a day of music, participate in lawn games, and snack on ice cream and popsicles provided by Union Board.

"I love to see that everyone gathers out here to show our community and just gather in the sun," Nicole Holzman '14.
