Author and editor of more than a dozen books on Lincoln, Burlingame won the 2010 Abraham Lincoln Prize for his most recent book, Abraham Lincoln: A Life. The prize, which includes the largest award in the field of history, is given annually for the best book on Lincoln and Lincoln's era.
