Luetger Elected Trustee

GALESBURG -- Steven P. Luetger has been elected to the Knox College Board of Trustees. A 1975 Knox College graduate, Luetger is Senior Managing Director for Fixed Income Management of Mesirow Financial Holdings, Inc. of Chicago.

"Steven Luetger has shown extraordinary management and analytical skills in his profession, and a deep support for Knox through his many volunteer activities on campus," said Knox College President Roger Taylor. "The College recognized Steve with a Knox Service Award in 2006, and we are glad to be working with him now as a Trustee of the College."

Luetger has nearly thirty years of experience in fixed income asset management. As head of the fixed income strategy team for Mesirow Financial, Luetger oversees the firm?s asset-backed security sector. Prior to taking his current position with Mesirow Financial, Luetger was managing director and head of fixed income at the Chicago office of Columbia Management. Previously he was a partner with Stein Roe & Farnham, where he also had been a senior vice president, portfolio manager and government sector specialist.

Luetger earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics at Knox, where he also lettered in football and joined the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He received a master's degree in business administration at the University of Chicago. He has chaired the Knox Fund Steering Committee, co-chaired the Class of 1975 Reunion Committee, and served on the Knox College Business Advisory Council. He is a past president of the Chicago Options Society and past treasurer and board member of the Naperville Art League.

Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 45 states and 44 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
