The Knox College Music Department presents fall term concerts by the Knox-Sandburg Community Concert Band and the Knox Wind Ensemble, and three recitals by music students. All performances are free and open to the public in Kresge Recital Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, on the Knox campus in Galesburg, Illinois.
The Knox-Sandburg Community Concert Band will perform at 3 p.m., Sunday, November 15. Directed by Laurel Kay Filzen Etzel, associate in applied music, the band comprises musicians from Knox College, Carl Sandburg College and the Galesburg area.
The Knox Wind Ensemble will perform at 7 p.m., Monday, November 16. The ensemble is a student group directed by Jill Marasa, associate in applied music.
Individual music students will perform in recital at 4 p.m. on Friday, November 13; Monday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 17.
Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 47 states and 48 countries. Knox's 'Old Main' is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
