Tobias Lannholm is the new assistant director for employer relations at Knox College.
The new position focuses on experiential learning opportunities for students, such as internships and job shadowing, and aims to guide graduating seniors in their job searches.
Lannholm said that he's excited to start making connections for Knox students.
"Part of taking the job for me was knowing how I went through school," said Lannholm. "I didn't use a career center and I remember how hard it was. I want to bridge that gap. I think there's a passion there, knowing this is going to kickstart somebody's future."
Lannholm joins the staff of the Bastian Family Career Center, which prepares students for their professional or academic careers after graduation. "The role of this new position will be to create the relationships that'll open doors to Knox's talented students," commented Terrie Saline, career center director. "Toby will be responsible for implementing a strategic plan for facilitating connections with companies and organizations, leading to the recruitment of Knox students."
Lannholm received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Monmouth College and has a master's degree in sports management with a focus on marketing and public relations from Western Illinois University. He has several years of human resources and sales experience, primarily in the banking industry.
"I believe Toby will be a great fit for Knox College," said Saline. "He's quite excited to start his new role and prides himself on his abilities to foster productive working relationships."
The position is being funded by six donors, who represent the Classes of 1952 to 2009. The initiative was led by a Knox trustee.
