Sights from the Knox Rootabaga Jazz Festival

The 33rd annual Knox Rootabaga Jazz Festival was held April 11-13 at venues around downtown Galesburg. A large community of players and listeners from Knox, the Galesburg area, and elsewhere were on hand for the three day festival.

In addition to the usual schedule of events, Rootabaga Kids, a new event this year, filled a room in The Galesburg Public Library providing children and the community-at-large with an opportunity to listen to The Deep Blue Organ Trio and to learn more about the jazz that they play.

Below is an audio slideshow from this year's festival, featuring an excerpt from "Mr. Dynamite" composed by this year's headline artist, Ben Williams, and performed by The Knox Jazz Ensemble, featuring Williams on bass.
