Students, Staff Tackle Damage, Debris

More than 150 fall sports athletes and coaches, along with College staff and outside contractors, swept across campus Friday morning to clean debris and repair damage from Thursday's windstorm. After working on campus, the students helped the City of Galesburg clean up fallen limbs in nearby Standish Park. The following Monday, August 27, the women's golf team helped clean Soangetaha golf course in Galesburg, where they practice and host meets.

After a storm-damaged attic beam was removed, Old Main's metal roof eased back to a more normal position, compared to its appearance the day before.	No excuse for keeping that overdue book; the walk is clear to Seymour Library, blocked by a fallen tree on Thursday.
Removal of trees from the side of Conger-Neal residence hall on Friday. Damage to the building was minor, and Craig Southern, Associate Dean of Students for Campus Life, expects it to open as scheduled.
