Members of the Knox College chapter of Beta Theta Pi head for the frigid waters of Lake Storey in Galesburg's 2012 Polar Plunge
Several teams of Knox College students were among more than 200 participants in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge, March 4, 2012, at Lake Storey in Galesburg. The event raised more than $35,000 to benefit Special Olympics of Western Illinois.
The air temperature at the lake was listed at 33 degrees F, with the water temperature at 27.
Knox was represented by 41 students who raised $4,342, including members of fraternities Sigma Chi and Beta Theta Pi; and sororities Pi Beta Phi and Alpha Sigma Alpha.
