The Knox College academic year has come to a successful conclusion, and it's been an extraordinary year. On Saturday, June 6, 266 students received their diplomas, including 31 members of Phi Beta Kappa and 26 College Honors recipients. Professors Karen Kampwirth '86 and Jeremy Day-O'Connell received Fulbright Fellowships to study abroad in Argentina and the United Kingdom, respectively. Prairie Fire student-athletes set eight college records in four varsity sports. The Knosher Bowl and Tim Heimann Court in Memorial Gymnasium were officially dedicated.
These accomplishments all happened against a backdrop of financial upheaval and uncertainty, highlighting the importance of a liberal arts education in today's changing world. This education is made possible by the support of Knox College alumni, parents, and friends.
Your gifts to the Knox Fund provide immediate support for financial aid, a world-class faculty, and student life outside of the classroom. In other words, you make Knox.
The College's giving year ends on June 30, 2009. Don't miss your opportunity to contribute to Knox's continued success. Your gift -- whatever the size -- makes Knox possible for today's students.
Alumni Can Help Knox Receive $100,000
If 5,000 Knox alumni give before June 30, Trustee Duke Petrovich '74 will give Knox $100,000. As of June 10, more than 4,500 alumni have already met the challenge. Let us count you in!
