Teach for America Recruits Trio of 2013 Knox Graduates

Three members of the Knox College Class of 2013 are joining Teach for America, the highly selective, national corps of teachers serving in low-income urban and rural areas and working to expand students' educational opportunities.

The Teach for America website states that the program "recruits top college graduates of all academic majors, career interests, and backgrounds who demonstrate achievement, leadership, perseverance, and a commitment to expanding opportunity for children in low-income areas."

According to the website, more than 10,000 Teach for America corps members teach in 46 regions across the United States. Admission to Teach for America is very selective. During the past three years, the acceptance rate has averaged below 15 percent.
