Knox College is recognized for high academic quality, outstanding teaching, affordability, and campus diversity, in the 2019 Best College rankings from U.S. News & World Report.
Knox ranked in the top 50 among the nation's liberal arts colleges in several areas, including overall educational value, outstanding teaching by faculty, and international and ethnic diversity of the student body.
Knox is ranked 68th overall among the top 233 "National Liberal Arts Colleges." The ranking includes measures of academic strength of faculty and students, as well as successful alumni.
Knox is ranked in the top 100 colleges in two other key measures: economic diversity of the student body and the college's strong reputation among high school counselors.
The annual rankings are compiled by U.S. News using various standard educational reports and surveys of education professionals.
"Knox is again recognized by U.S. News as an outstanding educational value, with a top-50 ranking among 'Best Value Schools,'" said Paul Steenis, vice president for enrollment and dean of admission.
"At the same time, Knox's outstanding faculty is nationally ranked among the top 50 for 'Best Undergraduate Teaching'—an evaluation that, according to U.S. News, 'focuses on schools where faculty and administrators are committed to teaching undergraduate students in a high-quality manner,'" Steenis said.
"The true power of a Knox education goes far beyond the numbers—it's revealed in the transformative experiences that Knox College students have with faculty and classmates in courses, labs, studios and studies abroad; in athletics and extracurriculars; and in the full range of campus activities."
