The Prairie Fire women's basketball team wrapped up a successful 2019-20 season on Friday, falling to No. 1 seed Ripon, 68-56, in the Midwest Conference Tournament. Catessa Duran led Knox with 24 points, and Jarrelyn McCall added 14.

For the second time in three years, the Prairie Fire women's basketball team has qualified for the Midwest Conference Tournament (MWC), finishing their regular season with a record of 16-9 (11-7 MWC).
They will travel to Ripon, Wisconsin, to battle top seed Ripon in the semifinal round at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Monmouth/Cornell semifinal in Saturday's MWC Tournament Championship game, which will be played at 3:00 p.m.
A send-off is planned for 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, from the front of Alumni Hall.

A hard-won 59-56 victory over Illinois College on February 18 vaulted the Prairie Fire into the tournament.
The 2019-20 team’s successes have included:
- 16 total wins, the most since the 2017-18 season
- 11 conference victories, matching the performance in 2017-18, when the Prairie Fire hauled in the most conference wins in school history
- Senior Jarrelyn McCall breaking the old record and becoming the all-time leading scorer for Knox women’s basketball
