The Office of Spiritual Life strives to nurture the ethics and spiritual identities of our community, while helping students navigate and define their own spiritual experiences and practices.
In addition, religious literacy remains valuable in a world where we must strive to respect and understand our increasingly diverse neighbors. The Office of Spiritual Life carries the tradition of the liberal arts by teaching students to communicate with people from all walks of life.
Dialogue is a central tenet of spiritual life at Knox. Through spiritual and political dialogues, the Knox community can move towards understanding and allyship.
What is an Interfaith Peer Educator?
Interfaith Peer Educators are student leaders who serve as ambassadors for the Office of Spiritual Life, playing a key role in fostering an inclusive and respectful campus environment. They help build a welcoming interfaith community by encouraging dialogue, understanding, and engagement across a wide range of religious, spiritual, and non-religious worldviews.
Whether someone finds meaning through a particular faith tradition, the natural world, mindfulness practices, or philosophical reflection, Interfaith Peer Educators support them in exploring and deepening that journey. At the same time, Peer Educators are on a journey of their own—learning more about their own beliefs, spiritual practices, and values while walking alongside others as they do the same.
Through programs, conversations, and campus outreach, Interfaith Peer Educators help create space for curiosity, connection, and community across lines of difference. They are bridge-builders, listeners, and learners dedicated to making our campus a place where everyone feels seen and spiritually supported.
