Auditions

All current students, including those just admitted, are welcome to audition for the Knox College Choir, the Knox College Chamber Singers, and the Knox College Players! Our members come from all walks of life and every corner of the campus. (Prospective students interested in the choirs should visit the Music Audition and Portfolio page.)

Auditioning for the Knox College Choir and Chamber Singers

To audition for the Choir or the Chamber Singers, sign up using the link below. If there are no times available that work for you, email our Director, Dr. Bram Wayman, and he will help you work something out. If you’d like to be considered for the Chamber Singers as well as for the full KCC, check the relevant box on the information form when you arrive for your audition. You only need to audition once to be considered for both ensembles.

This fall, auditions take place the first three days of classes: Monday, September 9, through Wednesday, September 11. Sign up now and claim your slot — before someone else does! (Auditions for each day close twenty-four hours beforehand.)

At your choral audition

At your audition, you’ll be asked to sing various snippets of music and try some vocal and musicianship exercises. You’ll also have the opportunity to talk with our Director, Dr. Bram Wayman, about where you’d like to take your music during your time at Knox. You do not need to prepare anything for the audition ahead of time, nor bring any music! Just bring a pencil, and arrive ten minutes early, to fill out an info form.

Auditions are held in room 150 of the C.F.A., the Center for the Fine Arts. The C.F.A. is building no. 65 on the campus map; room 150 is on the first floor at the south end of the building.
